Guided tours in English around Lake Chiemsee and Seeon Abbey — and live music for your event, from the same person. Based in Upper Bavaria, between Munich and Salzburg.
A thousand years of monastery history, an island with a royal palace, and a lake the Bavarians call their sea. I show groups around in English — usually with music somewhere along the way.
Founded in 994, a Benedictine abbey for over eight hundred years, today a conference and concert venue. The young Mozart worked here between 1767 and 1769 and wrote two offertories for the abbey.
Groups · conference guestsHerreninsel with King Ludwig II’s unfinished palace, and Frauenchiemsee, where a convent was consecrated in 782 — Benedictine nuns still live there today.
Half day · full dayGuided walks in the pre-Alpine landscape, from gentle lakeside paths to summit routes. Also as a cycling guide.
Small groupsDay tours through the wider region — Berchtesgaden, the salt mines, the alpine lakes. Qualified tourism manager (IHK).

Organ, harpsichord, piano, accordion, alphorn — and voice. On my own or with an ensemble I put together for the occasion.
Trained as a church musician at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg — organ with Prof. Heribert Metzger, cathedral organist in Salzburg; choral conducting with Joachim Rotzsch, former Thomaskantor in Leipzig, and with Prof. Albert Angelberger.
Weddings, memorial services, church concerts. Organ, voice, or a small ensemble — in English, German, or both.
Churches · couples · familiesBar piano, accordion, alpine folk music — quiet enough to talk over, present enough to be noticed.
Hotels · companiesI direct the church choir and the singing circle in Seeon, and assemble project ensembles: singers, instrumentalists, whatever the room and the occasion call for.
Concerts · festivalsYes, really — and yes, it can be learned. Small groups, on request. Bavarian Broadcasting sent a reporter to try it.
Groups · company outingsMost events need a host, a musician and someone who plans the programme. I do all three — which means one conversation instead of three, and one invoice instead of three.
Galas, award ceremonies, company anniversaries, conferences. From Seeon Abbey to the Allerheiligen Hofkirche in Munich. Bilingual on request.
Companies · organisersBeer history, young brewing culture, a tasting with commentary — framed by live beer songs. As a certified beer sommelière (Doemens). No brewery required: I bring the beers to your conference room, hotel or hall.
Companies · conference venuesFrom an organ concert in the abbey to an alpine folk evening — I plan the programme, book the musicians and host the evening.
Venues · hotelsCivil wedding ceremonies, memorial services, anniversaries. Words and music from the same person.

I have been on stage since I was five — that is close to half a century now, most of it in churches. Before the music came television: I worked as an editor and made over forty broadcast features following Mozart’s traces through Upper Bavaria and Salzburg, for RFO, Bavarian Broadcasting and SWR. That is where I learned how an evening is built, and when people need something explained.
Two further qualifications may seem out of place at first: I am a qualified tourism manager (IHK) and a certified beer sommelière (Doemens). They explain why a guided tour, a tasting and a concert can come from one person here.
In April 2016 I set a world record in continuous yodelling — fifteen hours and eleven seconds. It brought a good deal of television with it, and a song of my own, Grenzenlos.
I will reply in English, usually within a few days. Please tell me the occasion, the date, the place and roughly how many guests — then I can say straight away whether it works and what it costs.
For guided tours it also helps to know how mobile the group is, and how much time you have.
